Video games have become increasingly popular, and with good reason: The graphics in video games have gotten so good that it’s hard to imagine playing without them. What’s more, thousands of downloadable games are available to players worldwide, meaning there’s never a dull moment. There are a lot of genres to choose from and a wide array of game types. To help you decide which games you’d like to purchase, read on!
How Do Video Games Work? The basic system is simply a mobile computer that downloads games and connects to a network of online game servers. Systems-wise, you could opt for an Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, or PS4 system *or* a bundled console package, such as that three-game Xbox One’s package or this limited-edition PS4 Pro edition. (Translation: You have choices to buy even more games on top of your five-for-free bargain.)
Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 Games Can’t Run on Xboxes Or PlayStation Portable consoles? Not anymore! It was revealed that many popular game developers will now be releasing games for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 in a surprising turn of events. For example, Killzone will be coming to the Xbox 360 this fall.
So, how should you price these popular games? On eBay? Not really. We found that the best prices on the most popular games – like Call of Duty, Madden NFL, Grand Theft Auto, Guitar Hero, and Killzone – are usually found on eBay. That’s because most sellers list them at bottom-dollar prices.
The question is, how do you determine what a game is worth on eBay? You do it by understanding the market for used games and how buyers and sellers respond to them. For example, do buyers keep adding more fun to their “ready to play” list (thus lowering the price of each one), or do they keep adding games to their “opened but not played” list (so the price goes up each time it’s offered for sale)?
There are several things to consider when pricing games on eBay. For starters, manufacturers of first or second-generation video game consoles vary widely in the amount of used inventory they carry. Some vendors have an extensive list of used games, while others have tiny quantities.
This means that prices on some older games may be higher on eBay than on other sites. There are a couple of reasons for this. First, some sellers charge more because there’s a relatively small percentage of customers who will be interested in that old game console. The second reason is that certain types of older games, such as PS1 games, don’t sell as well on eBay as newer games because buyers need a larger hard drive storage space to download them from the Internet. So, if you want to list older games on eBay, make sure you check out the market first and then decide what your price range would be on eBay vs. GameStop. If the market is saturated with used gaming consoles, then you might want to list your item at a slightly higher price to make a healthy profit.
As an example, the lowest price I’ve seen for a PS3 slim was around $250. Most sellers priced their units at a little less than that. The average company sold within two months previous was sold for approximately half that. I’d recommend looking for two-month-old units sold at a discounted price rather than an auction price. You can always find used PS3 companies on eBay if you’re willing to search.
